Local information helps people understand where they live, find community opportunities and identify the organisation responsible for the service or decision they need. Rosehaven's integration role complements that information by helping people participate in ordinary civic and community life after any national status decisions have been made by the competent authority.
Finding your way around local life
A commenced council can bring together useful information about Rosehaven's communities, local participation, council functions and relevant organisations. The aim is not to duplicate every public-service website. It is to make the local picture understandable and help residents reach the right place when responsibility sits elsewhere.
Integration and participation
Integration support is concerned with ordinary participation: understanding local opportunities, making community connections and reducing practical barriers to taking part. It can work alongside Community Connectors and neighbourhood activity where somebody would benefit from a more personal introduction to local civic or community life.
Support should be proportionate and should respect the person's independence. It is not a mechanism for repeating national decisions or creating a second local test of a person's status.
What Rosehaven Council does not decide
Immigration, entry, residence, settlement, nationality and membership status are not Rosehaven Council functions. Those decisions remain with the competent national authority. Once such a decision has been made, ordinary local integration support should focus on participation rather than reopening the underlying case.
Current position
Rosehaven Council has not commenced a local-information or integration service and there is no council referral route to use at present. As the council becomes operational, this area can develop into practical local guidance while retaining clear signposting where another authority is responsible.
